THE LACROSSE SEASON (3-8 Grade)
Lacrosse is played outdoors during the months of April – June. Players participate in weekly practices followed by weekend games and occasional tournaments. Additionally MLC holds winter Skills and Drills for all teams during the months of January – March to prepare for the spring season.
3-8th Grade Player Registration for the upcoming spring season opens in fall of the year prior. MLC offers “Early Bird Registration” for one month, traditionally from October 1st – October 31st (Halloween), where families have the opportunity to SAVE on their registration fees. WINTER SKILLS & DRILLS
All teams will participate in our Winter Skills & Drills sessions. These are weekly INDOOR practices beginning in January of each year and concluding by the end of March. (8 weeks) Skills & Drills focus on the development of individual and team skills to prepare all players for the upcoming season. Traditionally Skills & Drills are Sunday evenings for 1.5 hours and are included in your player fees. Players are STRONGLY encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible.
Outdoor practices begin in April or as soon as the weather allows. Practices will be TWICE a week on a designated weeknight and last approximately 1.5 hours. Coaches may make a schedule change based on the needs of the team or field availability. Traditionally all teams practice at Bay Lane Elementary School.
Games are played on weekends during the months of April – June. This excludes any holidays that fall on a weekend. AWAY games are played at the host team’s facility. HOME games are currently played at Muskego High School.
Typical game times are as follows: (Times are subject to change by the league)
Saturdays: 14U: 9am, 12U: 10:30am, 10U: 12:00Pm
Sundays: 10U: 12:00pm. 12U: 1:30pm, 14U: 3:00pm
It is our goal that each team play in at least ONE tournament style competition during the spring. However some teams may play in additional tournaments based on age level, availability, and budget. All teams participate in MAYLA’s annual event known as LAXTRAVAGANZA. MLC will aim to select events that best suit our team’s level of play. Some tournaments may require an additional fee to participate.
Parents need to arrange transportation for their athletes to all games and tournaments.
