Parent FAQ's
This page is to provide general and basic answers to some of the questions you may have as new lacrosse (lax) family or looking for quick guidance on an existing issue.
What age can we start lacrosse?
Any age, starting at the 1st grade or 7 year old level. Muskego has players starting the sport as young as kindergarten and at the high school level.
Do we have to purchase equipment for our player?
Answer: It depends on age level and whether your child plays boys or girls. Muskego Lacrosse Club works with the Lax Shack in Brookfield to provide low cost rental equipment for U8 and U10 boys level players. For boys, that includes a helmet, chest protector, elbow pads, gloves and a stick.
The Club has elected to continue to include a girls stick and protective googles for our U8 & U10 Girls levels.
U12 and U14 Girls & Boys players must provide their own USA Lacrosse approved equipment.

Do we have to fund raise in addition to our registration fees?
NO! Muskego Lacrosse Club does not require any additional donations or funds for your player to enjoy lacrosse. We pride ourselves on working hard to create a budget that fits everyone. We do require volunteer time.
Do we have to volunteer to help support MLC?
YES. In order to help provide the best experience possible at the best possible cost, we need everyone's help throughout the year. Our volunteer coordinator will publish many opportunities to earn volunteer credit. Although some families are unable to volunteer, there is a fee to buy out your credits. Lastly, Muskego, along with our partners at Mukwonago, host one of the largest 2-day play day events in Wisconsin for youth lacrosse. We do require volunteer assistance at that event.
